Saturday Morning
An impromptu midnight skate on the canal last night, the first of the season, what fun! But the price this morning is a runny nose, aches and sneezing, gah. I wanted to blog today about signing-up for the learn-to-run course again which starts tomorrow, about being really excited to wend my way back to my former Caribou self. I'm hugging the box of Kleenex instead and sipping boiled water - a not-so-fun pyjama day. Thinking about running tomorrow, I'm trying an experiment. I've always jumped into new things when the muse excites me, seems easier to take risks then, but as soon as I'm not moved it's just as easy to jump-off. This time I'm testing a different motivation - something I can't quite give shape to with words yet - maybe it's discipline. Whatever it is, it's a different practice.

My dear former Caribou, please don't go running if you are sick. (Did you?)
